Obituary of Egbert J Helm

Egbert J. Helm, Sr., 95, of Bradenton, passed away on January 6, 2021. Mr. Helm was born and raised in Bradenton and founded the Helm Vault Service, a cemetery service firm, in 1960. He is survived by Cornelia Helm, his loving wife of 76 years. He is also survived by two sons: Powell (Ann) Helm and Egbert "Jack" (Ellen) Helm, Jr. He is further survived by grandsons Chance and Caleb (Olivia) Helm as well as his great-grandson Tyler. Mr. Helm was a avid outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. In his later years he was also a lover of Bluegrass music. A veteran of the US Army, having served faithfully during World War II, Mr. Helm was also a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, January 8, 2021 at Braden River Cemetery on SR 70, Bradenton, officiated by the Rev. Sterling Forrester. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Braden River Cemetery.
