Obituary of Betty Ann Thurman

Betty A Thurman of Bradenton went home to be with the lord on August 13, 2021. She was born on January 21, 1940, in Elmhurst, Illinois and was the only child of Alfred and Margret Jacobs. She met her love, Johnnie Thurman in Chicago, married and started a family before moving to Bradenton in 1970. She worked at Tropicana for 20+ years and retired in 1996. All though she was an active member at Impact Community Church in Palmetto, she was best known to many as “Nana”. In addition to helping raise her three grandchildren and great niece, she cared for over a dozen more as her own. Nana will always live on in the hearts of those she touched. She is preceded by her parents and her husband of 49 years. She is survived by her two sons; Butch (Jackie) and John aka Nick, three granddaughters; Cheyenne (Sabastian), Jordan, Samantha, Step Grandson Matt (Jessica) as well as a great grandchild, Dean, nephew Fred Parish, niece Sue Parish, grandniece Farrah Parish (Carlos), great grandniece Millie, and all of Bradenton.
