Thomas Clifton

Obituary of Thomas Earl Clifton

Tom, age 64, was born 4th of six children to Lamar and Kathleen Clifton formerly of the Manatee/Sarasota Co area. Tom was a member of the Cocoa High class of 1975. He then served in the Air Force from 1976-1978, and he was honorably discharged. Tom was a mason by trade, very proud of what he built; but loved to grow vegetables and cook for his loved ones. His last project was to plant tomatoes for his youngest granddaughter who shared his love of fresh foods. He was preceded in death by his father Lamar (1983 Cocoa FL), his mother Kathleen(2009 Mims FL), his oldest brother George(1979 Houston TX), his youngest sister Mary Ann(1978 Cocoa FL) and his beloved dog Scruffy. Tom was a loyal friend who was quick to smile and laugh. He will be missed by his Bradenton friends and neighbors, but none more so than the Miller’s and the Handel’s. Tom was survived by his daughter Tammy Dickerman (husband John) and their children; of which Tom was so proud; John Tyler(14), Lilly(12), and Bryony(10) of Parrish FL. His son William Clifton (wife Ashleigh) of Palm Bay FL; William’s son Braiden(14) of KS formerly of Port Saint John FL. He was also survived by his older brother John Clifton (wife Mary Beth), Cocoa, FL, with whom he spent his remaining days watching Food Network and visiting with extended family. He also leaves behind an older sister Diane Lasby (husband Richard), Cocoa FL, a younger sister Charleen Clifton of Titusville FL; nephews Shane and Matt, nieces Chrissy, Amy, and Rachel; 10 great nieces and nephews, and one great great nephew; all of which brought joy to his life. Tom was a wanderer, a pirate born too late. Though he was happiest with his loved ones, his heart was always on the sea, his greatest dream was to make his way to the Caribbean to live a life of sand, sun, surf, and to admire the sunsets on the beach. He will be cremated by Griffith-Cline of Bradenton FL. There will be no service, just a private ash spreading.
