John Godwin, passed away March 24, 2022, he was born January 29, 1946. After completing high school, he went to work at Tropicana, where he worked for 38 years. After retiring he would enjoy going to church and spending time with his family, including his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his family more than anything and was helpful to anyone who needed it. He was surely one of a kind and will be greatly missed. John was preceded in death by his wife Vonceil Godwin, mother and father; Sarah Doris and James Virgil Godwin, sisters; Maude Harrod, Shirley Kersey and Rhoda Ann Baird, Son; James V. Godwin Jr., brother; David Godwin and great granddaughter; Madison Ayscue. He is survived by his children; David and Wendy Godwin, Cassandra and Mike Ewing, Jason and Kelly Godwin, brother; Joe Godwin of Bradenton, sisters; Birdie Roberts of Palmetto, Peggy Porter of Palmetto, and Mary Truluck of Bradenton. He is also survived by his grandchildren; James, Dara and Zach Godwin, Jakob Stinchcomb, Erica Ayscue, Andrew, Daniela, Johnathan and Stephanie Ewing. He is also survived by his great grandchildren; Hunter, Aubrey and Christian Ayscue Melanie, Michael and Annaleah Ewing, David and Tegan Harrison. There will be a Visitation, Tuesday, March 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, and a Funeral Service, Wednesday, March 30, at 11:00 AM at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Ave. W. Bradenton, FL. with burial following at Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto, Fl.
