Obituary of Hattie Delores Hedgepeth

Hattie Delores Hedgepeth was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She departed this life and gained her angel wings on May 4, 2023. She was 86 years old. She was born August 19, 1936, to Raymond and Katherine (Ray) Tollett. She spent her childhood in Chattanooga, TN. It was there she met the man who become her life-long husband, Virgil Eugene Hedgepeth, when his Navy ship visited her hometown. They married on August 16, 1956 in Tampa, FL. They settled down in Tampa and started a family. Their children – Troy Edward and Carl David– were the light of her life. She adored being a “hands-on” mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Virgil E. Hedgepeth, her sons, Troy and Carl Hedgepeth, and a long list of grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Funeral Service is scheduled at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Ave. W. Bradenton, FL, Wednesday, May 24, at 2:00 PM. The family would like to say a special word of thanks to the staff of Fresenius Kidney Care Bradenton, HCA Florida Blake Hospital, and Casa Mora Rehabilitation & Extended Care. Our mother was blessed to have known every person at these facilities who were involved in her care.
