Obituary of Joseph Arthur Orr

Joseph A. Orr, 58 of Oneco, Florida passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 following an accidental head injury. Mr. Orr was known and loved by many students, staff, and friends at Manatee High School where he taught drafting for the past 28 years. Joe directly impacted the lives of thousands of students who were touched by his enthusiastic love of people and life. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren, close friends and family as 'Papa Joe,' the one who delighted in teaching the younger ones how to camp, fish, and enjoy the outdoors. His presence at home and school will be deeply missed. Joe is survived by his wife of 37 years, Megan Vowell Orr, his daughter, Casey Orr Bergbom, his son, Britton Orr, his grandchildren, Austen and Emilie, his mother, Elizabeth Orr, and his brothers Phillip, Jesse and Ben Orr. Services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Happy Gospel Church, 1915 53rd Ave. E. in Oneco. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm with the memorial service following at 3:00 pm.
