Claire and her family : my Florida neighbors: since , 1975. We walked to the Longboat Key beach and talked about the Longboat Observer Newspaper . I knew Claire from Goshen High School until SUNY College. I worked for the College after graduation in the Library tutoring college subjects in 1999. I wanted to study American, Spanish, French, German, Russian and British Literature : in College : August, 1981- 1999. I read a book every week in English translation and Shakespeare' Julius Ceasar from 1981- 1992 . Claire was there for me 1999 when I graduated a Teacher. Claire and I waved to eachother from their home. She read the Bible and wrote the Book they published about Florida's History smiling from the second story of her home and looked at the neighbors walking to the beach on Gulf of Mexico Drive. Claire invited me to the Welcome Party at the " Westminster Shores" in Bradenton. We had a Church group photograph. Claire presented at home in the residency. I visited her new "home" and Ralph and Claire showed me the History of the Longboat Observer in Photographs on their new "office" walls. They showed me a world history puzzle, they had displayed in the living room and everyone who visited was invited to add a piece of the Presidential Puzzle or a "Newsworthy" Puzzle on the table. Claire and I enjoyed Church on Longboat Key. The Planning of the new"building" and the Pastor's Sermons were a topic of enjoyment each Sunday Service. I have known Claire 37 years and I have memories on the bookshelf at my home. Every Year in December : I have received a photograph Holiday Card and One year : Claire and Ralph smiling at a Tampa Bay Rays Baseball Game . Claire wrote and shared a month by month Life in Florida and a New Year's Prayer . Thank You, Deborah Bellas and family

I enjoyed working with Claire for many years in De Soto Celebration. In my opinion she was one of the best if not the best Executive Directors ever. She was a great help to me throughout my time with the society and she gave me the opportunity to edit the De Soto newsletter as well as many functions where she pointed me. I'll never forget he and my heart goes out to Ralph & the family.
