Obituary of Sesh Lamar Granger

Sesh Lamar Granger, born September 20, 1936, in Auburndale, Florida, was unexpectedly taken from us and passed to the heavenly gates on December 29, 2013. His holidays were spent surrounded by his loving family and he was enjoying his love of the outdoors taking fishing and hunting trips during his final days. Sesh was a devoted husband to his bride or 59 years, Thelma Elizabeth Granger (Lawson) and cherished father to his three sons and their spouses, Carroll Lee (Elena) Granger, James Philip (Trish) Granger and John Lamar (June) Granger, and was a loving grandfather to Stacie Shinkle (Jason Schmidt) and Skylar Granger, and his two great-grandsons, Aydin and Andrew Frazier. Sesh was a 1954 Manatee High School graduate and served our Country for 22 years in the United Sates Air Force from 1954 through 1976 as a Russian Language Specialist. Following his discharge, he was a successful entrepreneur, business owner, and real estate broker. Sesh was an avid sportsman, enjoyed gardening, cruising, country music, and exploring the United States through road and plane trips that took him as far as Alaska for salmon fishing this summer. His love of adventure and life was exceeded only by the love and joy he had for his family. In addition to his wife, sons, and grandchildren, he is survived by sister: Wanda Jean Schoepke (Paul), Linda Russell (Richard), and Debbie Burdett (jimmy), brothers: Judd Granger (Glenda), Randall Granger (Carol), Jack Granger (Laverne), and Larry Granger (Susan); sister in law, Joan Wilcox, brothers in law: Jim Lawson (June), Wayne Lawson (Karen), and Calvin Lawson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sesh was predeceased in death by his mother and father Lorene (Cothern) and Sesh E. Granger, brother “Buddy” Granger, and sister in law, Lee Creighton (Lawson). Services will be held at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Avenue W., Bradenton, Fl on January 4, 2014, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a memorial service and interment immediately following at Braden River Cemetery (State Road 70), Bradenton, FL.
