Obituary of Mary Lane Brown

Mary Lane Brown, 94, of Bradenton passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014. She was born September 2, 1919 in Detroit and moved to Long Boat Key, Florida in 1983. She volunteered for the Presbyterian Village in Detroit for years. She became in charge of the transportation program and drove residents putting on over 6,000 miles per year. She served on the Board of Directors of Presbyterian Village. She attended Francis Schimer in Mt. Carol, Ill. She attended Detroit Business Institute and excelled as a speed typist. She was a member of Northbrook Presbyterian Church. She was preceded by Thomas her husband of 56 years. They were neighbors on Virginia Park in Detroit. She is survived by sons Thomas E. Jr. of Bloomfield Hills, Mich. and Charles W. of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
