Obituary of Alton A. Gill

Alton A. Gill, of Myakka City, passed away May 5, 2022. He was born January 1, 1944 in Wauchula, FL. He was a minister for over 50 years, having preached the gospel at Manatee Baptist Church, Myakka City Baptist Church, Elwood Park Baptist Church, and was an interim minister for other churches. He was a musician and loved music. Al was the bass player and lead singer for local music group "Sound of Praise." He loved the Lord, his family and many friends as well as being trustworthy, loyal, and he was loved very much. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ginki Miller. He is survived by his wife, Lorie; sons; Troy and Allen Gill and Rikki and Jason Fonseca; a daughter, Kim Smither; grandchildren; Joe, Matt, Chris, Gracie, Aubree, and Andrew; brother, Walter "Bozie" Gill; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be Monday, May 9, 2022 from 6PM to 8PM at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Ave. W. Bradenton. FL. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 10, 2022 11AM at Manatee Baptist Church, 1501 7th Ave. E. Bradenton, FL. Interment will be at Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton.
