Obituary of Palma Maria Umana

     Palma Maria Umana died on June 28, 2023. at the age of 104.

  She was born in New York City on January 15, 1915, the second of 4  children to Frances (Lena) Barille and Matteo (Mike) Sciacca,both immigrants from Sicily. 

  Palma married Salvatore (Sal) Umana in 1946. They had three children and moved to Bradenton in 1958. Palma was active in community activities, including the P.T.A., the Boys Club and the Girls Scouts. Palma and Sal were together until his death in 1999. 

  Palma was the head, heart and soul of her family. She will be deeply missed by those whose hearts she touched.

  She is survived by her children: Roseann Umana (Christina Nyirati) of Yakima, Washington, Ralph Umana (Kim) of Pametto, Florida and a son-in-law, Michael Vaught (Frances (Deceased)), five grandchildren: Joseph Vaught (Christy), Jessica Gutierrez, Amy Umana, Gracie Umana (Cody Adams), Daniel Marlow (Amber DeSisto), and 6 great grandchildren: Cheyenne, Sierra, Jozelynn, Kaylie, Lyla, and Emilia.
