Obituary of Vera Kersell

     Vera Kersell earned her angel wings and entered eternal life on July 10, 2023 in Bradenton, FL where she resided. Vera was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 16, 1928 and raised her family there for many years before moving to CT and FL. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jim in 2008 after 60 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her parents Bill and Vivian Lape, Tony and Lena Mitchell and two sisters JoAnn and Bernadine. She leaves behind her son Robert Kersell (Faye) of Sun City, FL her daughter Sandra Kersell and her daughter in law of 30 years Vicki Russo of Niantic, CT and grandchildren Erin Macri (Jonathan) of Owings, MD Brent Kersell (Stephanie) of Virginia Beach, VA and her great grandson Domenic Macri. She also leaves behind many friends in FL, CT, and Ohio. Vera was full of life, she loved music, dancing, tap dancing, going to the beach in Madison CT where she and Jim lived for many years. She also loved dining with family and friends and of course enjoying her wine. She was also an avid bowler in her earlier years then resorted to playing Wii bowling most recently just months ago. She was a religious person and attended church regularly and made sure to read her prayer books every day and say her prayers at night. During the last week of her time on this earth, Vicki and Sandy made sure to read her Jesus Calling and Heaven Calling prayer books to her. She volunteered over the years for many charities and in hospital emergency rooms. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. In her memory please do something kind for someone in need or if you are able make a donation to a charity of your choice. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
