Obituary of George Osganian

     George Osganian passed away Monday, August 28, 2023. He was 88 years old. He was born to Andrew Osganian and Rose Osganian on March 31,1935. He grew up in Bronx, New York City where he attended De Witt Clinton High School and graduated in 1954. He was drafted into the United States Army, 3rd Infantry Division “Rock of The Marne” and served in the Signal Corps. He earned an Electronics 2-year degree which he used while working for Bendix Aviation Corporation and Xerox.

He met his beloved wife, Ruth at a New Year's Eve party in New York City. They were married for 60 years, in Palmetto, Florida at First Baptist Church of Gillette on August 18, 1963. George attended First Baptist of Gillette for 17 years where he owned a U-Pick Citrus Grove and farm with over 21 varies of Citrus. He loved being a farmer, taking care of the citrus trees and animals. He retired at 53 years old and then moved to Bradenton and attended First Baptist of Bradenton – Downtown for 44 years. He served as Head Usher for most of his service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years most of the time with Lodge #99. He served in every capacity, during the same time he was an active member of the Suncoast Sahib Temple Shriners for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Suncoast Bonsai Society where he grew Bonsai, built Display Tables and formed Cement Pots for Ruth’s manicured plants and trees. His other varied hobbies included: Woodworking (building furniture), cooking, gardening and especially reading.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Ruth Osganian, His oldest daughter, Anoush Roman Phakousonh and son-in-law Nack Phakousonh. His younger daughter, Rose Ellen Schoenbeck and son-in-law Dreux Schoenbeck. His grandchildren, Brad Edward Bertran, Nicky Rose Schoenbeck and Jacob Druex Schoenbeck and his many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at his residence 3207 Riverview Boulevard, Bradenton, FL 34205, on September 16, 2023 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. If you would like to drop by to remember George, you are welcome, please do.
